RIEKONMARJA MITTENS knitting pattern, PDF (english)

Riekonmarja mittens are inspired by the beautifully autumnal landscape of Lapland and the lush clusters of alpine bearberries.

These mittens are simple and beginner-friendly to knit, yet thoughtful details ensure a well-fitting result. The beautiful lace pattern adds charm to the process, making the knitting enjoyable even for more experienced knitters.

The pattern is written for circular needles using the Magic Loop technique, but can easily be adapted for double-pointed needles.

The wonderfully soft Finnish sheep wool provides excellent warmth in these lightweight lace mittens, and the natural dyes offer a beautiful, earthy color palette for this nature-inspired design.

For this pattern you will need:

• 1 skein (approx. 60g) of Lankastudio Suovilla Riite yarn (100 g / 270 m) in your chosen color (shown in the photo: shade Ruska)
• 2.50 mm circular needles (recommended cable length at least 80 cm)
• 2 stitch markers, a stitch holder or scrap yarn, a darning needle and scissors

Gauge: 24 stitches and 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm

The mittens in this pattern are women's size S. However, you can easily make a larger size by using larger needles.
